Demand for nabs services has more than doubled in the last 5 years with nabs impacting over 2000 industry professionals in 2017 alone. nabs continues to expand their service offering in order to support the health and well-being of all individuals in the media, marketing and communications industry in Canada. Programs like nabs RIPE (addressing impact of job loss and change in people aged 45 and older in our industry); nabs Broadway at Work (addressing a skill gap in storytelling, improv/presentation skills tied into the Broadway play and cast of Come From Away); our twice monthly professionally facilitated Career Strategy Group meetings in Toronto helping professionals land their next opportunity along with free and confidential counselling available to anyone in our industry. In anticipation of this growth trend, and evolving needs of the industry, nabs has projected an increase in fundraising of $200,000 in 2018 to meet these growing demands. nabs Board of Directors has proclaimed May to be #nabsmonth featuring new fundraising activities and events across the country during the month of May.
As part of the “nabs month” activities during the month of May, the nabs team will be hosting their inaugural art auction in Toronto on May 30th, 2018. The concept for the event focuses on industry creatives that create amazing work outside of their professional environment that is worthy of celebration. The works includes; photography, painting, and sculpture among other types. Industry creatives donate a piece of their artwork that is auctioned off at the event with all proceeds going to fund programs and services that nabs provides.
The event will be held at the newly renovated event space at 1 Delisle Avenue and Yonge Street, just north of St. Clair. We are expecting over 200 industry professionals to join us in celebrating the amazing work and maybe take a piece home for themselves.
