The past months have been a difficult time for our industry as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. It has been especially challenging for a number of individuals in our business due to mental health issues, unemployment and financial difficulties.
The National Advertising Benevolent Society (NABS) is a support system for all Canadian professionals in the marketing and communications industry facing these challenges. NABS services include a 24 hour helpline, mental wellness support, career counselling, financial planning and assistance.
In 2020 NABS has supported over 3000 clients, a record number of individuals and families, and the numbers continue to grow.
The COVID-19 pandemic has presented a challenge for NABS to secure donations and to run their charity events. They are therefore trying to raise $200,000 by year-end to ensure that their critical programs and services are there for our people.
The Canadian Association of Broadcast Representatives will help NABS, during Mental Health Wellness Month, reach their goal and would like people in the Broadcast Sales industry to do the same.
The CABR will match individual donations, up to a total of $2,500, for a combined goal of $5,000. Even a small donation makes a difference.
